Scouting for All
Scoutreach is about making sure every young person has the chance to be part of Scouting, no matter their background or circumstances.
Here in the Alamo Area Council, that means working directly with communities across Bexar County to build strong, lasting Scout units where they’re needed most. We partner with local organizations and recruit caring adult leaders who can guide and support youth in a meaningful way.
At its core, Scoutreach is simply Scouting made accessible. Same program. Same opportunities. Just with a little extra support to make sure every family can say yes.
How Scoutreach Helps
We provide support where it matters most so youth can fully take part in the program.
Support for Leaders
We help identify and support adults who can show up consistently and make a real difference in a young person’s life.
Help with Registration Costs
Families can get assistance so cost doesn’t get in the way of joining or staying involved.
Uniforms and Handbooks
Scouts receive what they need to feel included and ready to participate from day one.
Program Supplies
Units have access to the equipment needed for activities, learning, and outdoor experiences.
Camp Scholarships
We help Scouts get to camp, because some of the best growth happens when they’re outside trying something new.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just about access. It’s about what happens once a young person is in the program.
Scouts build confidence. They learn how to lead. They try things that push them a little outside their comfort zone. Along the way, they gain skills that stay with them long after the program ends.
That kind of growth starts with someone giving them the opportunity to begin.
Get Involved
Scoutreach is open to families, community groups, and organizations that want to bring Scouting to more youth.
If you’re interested in starting a unit, getting your child involved, or learning how this could work in your community, we’re here to help.
