You signed up to become a Cub Scout leader. Congratulations, you are about to begin a rewarding adventure with your new scout den. Along the way, you will build memories, develop leadership skills, gain friendships, and help create meaningful experiences that last a lifetime. If you are feeling a little overwhelmed and wondering, “Where do I even start?” you are not alone.
Time to sign up for READY TO LEAD – a half-day resource training designed to help new leaders feel confident, prepared, and connected. Our next session is September 12, 2026 from 8:30 to noon at McGimsey Scout Park.
This training introduces leaders to important Scouting resources, terminology, and traditions. Participants will learn about:
- Plan and successfully conduct den meetings and pack meetings
- Learn more about how to plan a year’s worth of den and pack meetings
- The basics of unit fundraising
- The Guide to Safe Scouting
- Other training opportunities online and in-person
- How to add the fun into each meeting.
Leaders will also discover what’s new in the Adventure Boxes for 2026 to make meetings easier, more engaging, and more organized.
Leaders leave with a stronger understanding of the many resources available to help them succeed. No one is expected to know everything on day one, and READY TO LEAD is here to help make the journey easier, more enjoyable, and more rewarding.
