The safety of our Scouts, volunteers, staff, and families has always been at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to announce that all of our council camping properties have successfully met the requirements for Texas State Licensing, affirming the high standards of safety and preparedness that have long been part of the Scouting experience.

While the licensing process involved extensive documentation, inspections, reviews, and coordination with state officials, the reality is that many of the required safety measures were already firmly in place. Scouting has always maintained rigorous standards for risk management, emergency preparedness, health and safety procedures, staff training, and property maintenance. The challenge was not creating new systems, but documenting and demonstrating the comprehensive procedures that have guided our camps for years.
This achievement reflects countless hours of work from dedicated volunteers, camp committees, property teams, rangers, and staff members who worked diligently behind the scenes. From reviewing emergency action plans and updating documentation to inspecting facilities, walking camp properties, and ensuring every detail met both Scouting and state requirements, their efforts were instrumental in this success. We are especially grateful to the volunteers who devoted their time and expertise to maintaining our camps, assisting with paperwork, reviewing procedures, and helping prepare our properties for inspection. Their commitment demonstrates the spirit of service that makes Scouting possible and helps ensure that every Scout can enjoy outdoor adventures in a safe and well-prepared environment.
Achieving state licensing is more than a regulatory milestone—it is another example of our ongoing commitment to placing the safety and well-being of youth first, and families can be confident that safety remains our highest priority. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort. Your hard work helps ensure that our camps continue to provide exceptional outdoor experiences while maintaining the high standards expected of both Scouting America and the State of Texas.
Together, we remain committed to delivering adventure, character development, and unforgettable experiences in an environment where safety always comes first.
