Ready to take your outdoor skills to the next level? Join us at our brand-new High Adventure Camp, designed to introduce you to all the high adventure activities that you can participate in as a Scouts BSA Member. Leaders can participate, too! This is a challenge by choice camp. Over five days, you’ll get to try out climbing, COPE, aquatics activities, zip lining, and lots of other activities. This camp program offering is open to scouts 13 years of age or older and having completed the 8th grade.
On top of the High Adventure option - we are planning to offer the following merit badges: Swimming, Canoeing, Kayaking, Lifesaving, Fishing, Fly Fishing, Hiking, Orienteering, Personal Fitness, Cooking, Emergency Preparedness, Wilderness Survival, First Aid, Fish and Wildlife Management, Bird Study, Nature, Space Exploration, Astronomy, Environmental Science, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Citizenship in Society, Metalworking (blacksmith), Communications, Disability Awareness, Archeology, Art, Pottery, Leatherworking, Photography, Wood Carving, Shotgun, Rifle, and Archery. These are available to your new scouts or those not yet, 13 or who do not want to participate in the High Adventure Program.

Ranger Program: A First-Year Scout Adventure!
The Ranger Program is the ultimate experience for Scouts working toward their First Class rank, blending learning, fun, and teamwork into an unforgettable adventure. Designed specifically for new crossover Scouts, this program provides a supportive environment where basic skills are taught through collaboration and hands-on practice.
Here’s what sets the Ranger Program apart:
- Patrol-Size Groups: Scouts work in groups of 6 to 8, ensuring personalized attention and fostering close teamwork. This size allows each Scout to actively participate, practice leadership, and form strong bonds with their peers—just like in their home units.
- Guided Leadership: Each patrol has a dedicated Troop Guide who leads them through the program. Scouts will practice daily troop meetings and prepare to take these leadership skills back to their units.
- Skill Building: Rangers will complete many rank advancement requirements and earn key certifications, including Totin’ Chit, Firem’n Chit, Swimming Merit Badge, and the First Aid Merit Badge.
This small-group approach ensures every Scout is engaged, supported, and given the chance to grow in confidence and capability. Leaders, you’re invited to join in the experience and watch your Scouts thrive in a program designed to set them up for long-term success in Scouting.

Ranger Program staff are special - these are scouts that are interested in helping other scouts learn and grow. It takes patience and a good knowledge of basic scout skills. If you have what it takes to be a part of the Ranger Program Staff - sign up now to be on BCSC staff 2027!
With perfect attendance throughout the week, Rangers will complete the following requirements:
Scout: 1a-f, 2a-d, 3a-b, 4a-b, 5
Tenderfoot: 1a-c, 2a-b, 3a-d, 4a-d, 5a-d, 6a, 7a, 8
Second Class: 1b-c, 2a-c, f-g, 3a-e, 4, 6a-e, 7b, 8a-b, 9a-b
First Class: 1b, 3a-d, 4a-b,5a-d, 7a-f, 9a-b
In addition, Scouts will earn:
Totin' Chip
Firem'n Chit
First-Aid Merit Badge
Swimming Merit Badge (if they complete the BSA swimming test)
Camp Director’s Note:
We encourage you to test their skills from what they’ve learned, however we are willing to sign their books upon your request. If your Ranger completed the swimming merit badge they also completed the rank requirements associated with swimming.
