Awards Nominations and Forms
- Vigil Nomination – The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members for service to lodge, council, and Scouting. Membership cannot be won by a person’s conscious endeavors. Please send your vigil nominations to vigil@ainatopahutsi.org
- OA – James E West Nomination – In 1993, Scouting America created the James E. West Fellowship Award for contributions to local council endowment fund. James Edward West was the first Chief Scout Executive of the Scouting America. Among his accomplishments, West created the first edition of the Official Handbook, crafted the Scout Oath, and secured the federal charter in 1916. Each year Aina Topa Hutsi contributes to the council endowment fund in honor of members who embody the same spirit of James West contributions and presents the award at the lodge banquet to the honoree. - OA Founders Award Petition – Introduced at the 1981 National Order of the Arrow Conference, the Founder’s Award recognizes Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to their lodge. The award is reserved for an Arrowman who demonstrates that they personify the spirit of selfless service, as advocated by founder E. Urner Goodman and cofounder Carroll A. Edson. The Founder’s Award is among the most prestigious recognitions a lodge is able to bestow on its members and presents the award at the lodge banquet to the honoree. ATH Lodge Award Nomination Worksheet – This form is for general use to assist in the crafting of nomination narratives. Use the information collected to tell a nominee’s story in the award nomination form narrative block. If additional detail is warranted this worksheet and/or additional supplemental narrative attachment can be included with the nomination form. While this worksheet is not required, it can provide additional context of nominee’s service to the lodge, council, Order of the Arrow, and greater scouting movement for the committee to review. - Lodge Rules and Operations(6-22-2018) – According to the Order of the Arrow’s Officers and Advisers Handbook, “Each lodge should develop and formally approve a written set of lodge rules to govern its operations. These rules should be reviewed annually and should cover topics like insignia, officers and advisers, officer election and replacement, meetings, activities, and dues”
